Another Sicily location that makes an appearance in both The Godfather and The Godfather: Part III is at Castello degli Schiavi in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Catania, Sicily. Castello degli Schaivi is where Michael stays when he is exiled to Sicily, and where he dies in The Godfather: Part III. Better known as the location where Apollonia dies, this castle is now used for weddings and celebrations. Many of these smaller towns were used because most of these villages had a population of 900 or less, which is more accurate to the time period as opposed to a heavier populated area like Palermo or Corleone.
