The Godfather I and II
Paramount Lot: Marathon StreetThe Godfather I and II
5. Paramount Lot: Marathon StreetSeveral scenes were filmed at the Paramount Lot in Hollywood, California. The Paramount Lot is where Tom Hagen meets with Woltz to discuss Johnny Fontane's future in Woltz's film. Although the production designer Dean Tavoularis did not like this location, they used it due to budget concerns. Tavoularis wanted to use the Warner Brother's lot instead, but had to settle for the Paramount lot. Something interesting to note about this scene, where Hagen and Woltz walk around the lot, is that the extras are wearing wigs and hats so that the producers would not have to pay Robert Duvall and John Marley as much for the smaller points of these scenes. Paramount Studios was also used to film the interior of Michael's Lake Tahoe house in The Godfather: Part II.
