The 17 Hundred Restaurant and Inn is located in the beautiful Historic district of Savannah. The Inn is the oldest hotel in Savannah, built in 1830 by a Virginia planter by the name of Steele White. Unfortunately, White never got to see the finished building, as he died in a riding accident just before its completion. Even before completion, the building was cursed. One of the unfortunate souls who once lived in the Inn was 16 year-old Anne Powell. Anne met a German sailor in her youth who swept her off her feet. The two married shortly after. The couple had a happy marriage until the sailor had to leave. As his ship left port, Powell watched her dear husband depart from a window of their house. When he was no longer in sight, Anne, unable to get past her grief, threw herself out the window, dying in the courtyard below. The Powells lived in room 204 of the Inn. When guests of the hotel stay in the room, the owners make the guests sign a waiver. Anne sits in a chair by the room's fireplace, and sometimes guests feel her standing next to the bed at night, jealous of any happy couples. Anne is not a malevolent spirit. She enjoys helping those who stay in her room. After a long day of sightseeing, many guests return to the room to find that Anne has neatly arranged their clothes on the bed. Women come back to find their evening and bedtime clothes on the bed as well. Anne is not always kind, though. She steals cameras and other electronics and sometimes turns the TV on and off at night, or changes its channels
