Jamestown
1. Visitor Center

Welcome to the Jamestown Settlement Visitor Center! In 1607, three ships carrying 105 men and boys landed in Jamestown and founded the first permanent English settlement in North America, thirteen years before the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts. An introductory film and extensive gallery exhibits share the story of the Europeans, Africans and Powhatan Indians during the first hundred years of the Virginia Colony. Outdoors, historic interpreters show how people lived during this time period. Replicas of the ships are on display, as well as a recreated Powhatan Indian village and colonial fort. A variety of admission tickets are available.
