15. Mike and Kaylee's Park

Mike Ehrmantraut is an ex-cop turned career criminal who seems to lose no sleep for the terrible things he's done. But according to Vince Gilligan, "Mike is a man who knows he's lost a good chunk of his soul." Whatever is left of Mike's soul lies with his granddaughter, Kaylee. Mike adores her and she is the only thing that makes his life worth living and their relationship serves to humanize the seemingly cold-blooded Mike. Mike enjoys the limited time he gets with his granddaughter and takes her often to a park, presumably near his home. But his only time of true enjoyment is shattered as the DEA has become wise to his operations. When the DEA show up at the park, Mike heartbreakingly must abandon Kaylee. Jonathan Banks states in an interview that his vision for the character was that Mike would never abandon Kaylee at the park but that he respected the writers and went along with it.
