Tucked in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, Hank and Marie Schrader's home is probably one of the swankier houses you'll see on the Breaking Bad tour. The pueblo style house is the picture perfect scene of domesticity with Hank home brewing his famous "Schraderbrau" and Marie flitting around the house, serving drinks to guests or tidying up. But just like all superficially perfect homes there are dark inner-workings behind the facade. Marie may seem like the perfect wife but she can't control her kleptomania. Hank hides his own skeletons in a closet of bluster and bravado but when that is taken away by hazards of being a DEA agent, his vulnerable nature is revealed. The house is where Hank struggles with his recovery after his near fatal run-in with the deadly Salamanca cousins in Season 3. In Season 4, Hank is bedridden and feeling inadequate he begins to obsessively collect minerals and gemstones. But he soon gets back into the game and from his bed uncovers Gus Fring's involvement in trafficking meth. One of the most memorable and tense moments of the show takes place in front of the house and in the garage when Walt discovers that he has been found out by Hank and preemptively confronts him, leading to Hank punching Walt and an unsteady peace, with Walt warning Hank to "tread lightly."
