If you’re checking out Jane and Jesse’s duplex you’ll want to check out the rest of the Silver Hill Historical District in which the duplex is located. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, the neighborhood is one of the oldest on the East Mesa. In 1891 local wholesale grocer Martin Stamm developed part of the area where Silver Hill is located. Back then the locals thought the development was too far away as it took up to an hour by horse and buggy to get there. There were also no water lines, so the intrepid Stamm drilled his own well and provided water to the residents. The neighborhood borders both Presbyterian Hospital and The University of New Mexico.
