Located in Albuquerque’s Old Town, The Candy Lady has been a New Mexico tradition for over thirty years. But less than a decade ago the Breaking Bad prop department approached The Candy Lady about making an edible prop for the show. Debbie Ball first came up with a white rock crystal candy but then changed it when Blue Sky was introduced on the show. As the show gained in popularity, Debbie decided to market it to the public and the sweet blue stuff was even featured on David Letterman when Bryan Cranston presented it as a gift to Dave.
