The Bellwood Quarry appears in The Walking Dead as the camping grounds. A group of survivors (including Rick's wife, Lori and their son, Carl) make the campgrounds their home, although it is eventually taken over by walkers and the survivors are forced to find a new place to go. Unfortunately, this is the spot where Amy's sister is killed, but it is also where Rick is able to reunite with his family, and where Shane confronts Ed for being abusive toward his family. When the camp gets overtaken by walkers, this is when the group decides to head to the CDC. Bellwood Quarry is a former quarry located in Atlanta, Georgia between Johnson Rd. and Donald Lee Hollowell Highway, and between Bankhead and West Midtown. The address is Chappell Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. It is slated to be turned into a lake for the future Westside Park. Often known as simply "The Quarry," it is often a hang-out spot for local teens. The location was also used as a filming location in season 4 episode 14 of The Vampire Diaries.
