The Walking Dead
Cobb Energy CentreThe Walking Dead
1. Cobb Energy CentreIn season one, episode five, "Wildfire", the survivors head to the CDC to get help, because Jim has been infected. It is believed the "CDC" has answers as to why the walkers appeared, and how to get a cure. Although it is believed the CDC will offer some help, the decision to go to the CDC and risk being attacked is a big gamble for the group. Once the group arrives at the CDC, it is surrounded by a military checkpoint, and at first they aren't able to get inside. It's not until Jenner sees the group on the camera feed that he lets them in. The building is also in the explosion scene toward the end of season one. Obviously this wasn't the actual Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In The Walking Dead, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre serves as The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is Atlanta's premier performance venue. The Centre is located in northwest Atlanta, at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway at Akers Mill Road, adjacent to I-75 inside I-285. The Cobb Energy Centre is a premier venue for Broadway shows, ballet, opera, concerts, comedy, educational shows, family performances, corporate meetings, wedding receptions, galas and events. This building houses a three-tier, 2750 seat theater as well as a 10,000 square foot ballroom.
