During season three, episode three of The Walking Dead, Merle captures Andrea and Michonne in the woods and brings them to a rural town -- Woodbury. The fictional town of Woodbury is located in the historic downtown area of Senoia, Georgia. There, they find at least 70 survivors living like there was no apocalypse. This is the same spot where Maggie and Glenn are tortured after being captured by Merle, putting the governor and Woodbury citizens against Rick and the other survivors who are living at the prison. The Historic Senoia Project is a downtown re-development initiative within the Historic District of the City of Senoia, Georgia, originally undertaken by the principals of Raleigh Studios - Atlanta. Many of the vacant parcels of land in Senoia's Historic District have been acquired for the purpose of constructing period infill development, designed to blend seamlessly with the town's existing architecture set between the late 1800's and the early 1900's. The scope of the Project includes retail/commercial, office/professional, and in-town residential, master planned to offer modern amenities and technology within the context of a historic sense of place.
