The Walking Dead
Mitchell StreetThe Walking Dead
10. Mitchell StreetAt the end of the second episode, "Guts", once Glenn uses the Dodge Challenger to distract the group of walkers, Rick and the rest of the surviving group are spared. Rick pulls the box truck to the loading dock. At this location, Glenn and Rick get the remainder of their group into the truck and head out of the downtown area. The building where this scene was filmed is at 207 Mitchell St. in downtown Atlanta. This intersection is about a block from the Norfolk Southern building featured behind Glenn's Challenger here. In the skyline of these location shots, you can see a gold-domed building. This building is the Georgia State Capitol building. The gold color you see isn't the sun, the dome is actually plated in gold leaf mined from Dahlonega, GA, the site of the original United States gold rush.
