Located in University Circle, which is an arts and culture district of Cleveland, the mission of the Reserve is to collect, preserve and present the history of the people of the Western Reserve.  Connecticut originally had the right to the land which is now known as Ohio, and after many land disputes, was forced to give up said land rights.  The Reserve encompasses the history of what is now the following areas of Ohio; Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron, Geauga, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Trumbull, Ashland, Mahoning, Ottawa, Summit and Wayne. The University Circle is best known for its world-class cultural, educational and medical institutions.  Forbes ranked the Circle as one of the "prettiest neighborhoods in America," and Mario Batali named the Little Italy in the area one of the Top Little Italy's to experience.  It was also once home to the largest Mafia organization between New York and Chicago, which was referenced in the Godfather movies.  Captain America used the area as the set location for the Smithsonian exhibit.
