Dean runs around the corner just in time to see his future self. They lock eyes for a minute before future Dean’s neck is broken. Sam is there wearing a white suit. He acts surprised when he sees Dean and gives him a small smile. It takes Dean a minute to realize Sam is no longer himself. Sam has actually been possessed by Lucifer and has started the end of the world using the Croatoan virus. It becomes clear Dean is scared of Lucifer possessing his brother. He backs away when Lucifer attempts to caress his face but then pulls back. Walking around Dean to go stroke the stem of a red rose instead with his back to him. Lucifer asks Dean what he thinks he’ll do to him. “I don’t know. Deep fry the planet?” Dean answers him in a tight, angry voice. In real life Riverview Mental Hospital is actually a perfect fit for the Supernatural show. It was an operating asylum all the way up until 2010 before it was closed down. The building has since then been abandoned and its fate is unknown. The West Lawn Pavilion on the building was open itself in 1913. It was home to the most disturbed mentally ill male patients at the time. The pavilion did eventually close in 1983. The West Lawn is still frequented by people wanting to film there and take pictures of the place. East Lawn is almost as popular and is where the scene for Episode 4 was shot. There are also rumors of the asylum being haunted. Despite its crumbling, rotting appearance the former asylum is surrounded by beautiful forest and wildlife. There have been rumors of the place being haunted, but except from one account from a janitor who used to work there are no accounts of hauntings. The janitor claimed to hear giggling and whispering as he was walking down a hallway in the shutdown asylum. He also suspected the areas in between the buildings, the alleyways, were haunted as well, claiming he heard noises when he was walking.
