During this scene of the episode a nun is seen gently placing books back in the pews of the church. She is startled when the priest of the church comes up behind her and hands her another one. Both smile at each other and the priest offers to walk the nun to her car. At that point the priest’s attention is caught by a man who says, “Father?” from the top of the entrance to the church. Andy, the name of the man at the entrance, exchanges a few words with the priest who's trying to convince him God cares about people. Andy is not moved by what the priest says at all. “He won’t help us. And if he can…he won’t.” Andy says to the priest. There’s a brief shot of the priest not being pleased with this news. Andy then draws a gun out and a click is heard as he draws back the safety. He then promptly shoots himself as the nun screams after the ringing of the gunshot in the church. St. Paul’s Indian Catholic Church is actually the oldest surviving Catholic Church in North Vancouver. The church was first established for the benefit of the Squamish Indians by the Oblate Fathers. At first there was only a mission church built at the site in 1868. The present church wasn’t built until later in 1884. Additions were made to the church in 1909 in the form of two 26-meter towers and transepts. St. Paul’s was restored in 1980-1983.
