47 Bond Street Manhattan, NY 10012 Il Buco only opened in 1994, but it already has a ghostly secret below its customer's feet. While it's beautiful, it's rather unassuming and not the type of place around NYC that one would assume to be visited by a ghost. However, it's the wine cellar that has a haunted history. It's reportedly visited by one of the greatest literary minds in history - Edgar Allen Poe. Poe used to live on the second floor during the 1840s, and drank at, what was then, a tavern on the ground floor. It seems as though his preference was wine. Some employees have reported going into the wine cellar and finding half-empty or completely empty bottles of wine, even if the bottle itself is completely sealed. Some argue that the cellar inspired Poe's short story, "The Cask Of Amontillado." While no one has seen the apparition of Poe himself, who knows, maybe one day he'll come face-to-face with someone he can share a glass of Merlot with.
