St. Augustine Monastery closed in the 1960s, but that doesn't mean the ghosts have left the building. It was once used in the 1800s as a training ground for those planning to devote their life to the church. Rumor has it that one of the monks went crazy and killed many of those in the building after dragging them down into the lower basements. Later, the building became a school for boys, and then turned into a religious retreat before being deserted in the 1980s. Wagner College now owns the property. There's been talk that there are cold spots, a feeling of being watched and followed, unexplained bangs and noises, whispers and conversations when no one is present, and the feeling of being touched when no one is next to you. Many have tried to venture all the way down into the rumored 10 - 20 sub levels of basements, but due to the fear that takes over, have yet to be successful.
