White Horse TavernNew York Ghosts
6. White Horse TavernThe White Horse Tavern opened in 1949, but a short three years later it became the starting point for the demise of poet, Dylan Thomas. It's said the literary great took 18 shots of whiskey and collapsed in front of the building before he was taken to the Chelsea Hotel, presumably to just sleep it off. However, he fell into a coma, and was pronounced dead the next morning at a local hospital. Thomas may be buried at St. Martin's Church in Laugharne, Dyfed, Wales, but it's believed that he still haunts the establishment he once frequented. Some claim they see him sitting at a corner table while others swear they see him walking around outside. A few employees have also said that his famous table, even if it's straightened out the night before, is often moved out of sorts the following morning. Many customers specifically ask to sit at this table to rub elbows with a little bit of history. Pay a visit to the White Horse Tavern and you may run into the famous poet yourself.
