Flatiron DistrictSex and the City
17. Flatiron DistrictOne of the less glamorous locations in the Sex and the City movie is the Duane Reade on Broadway and East 18th street, around New York's Flatiron District. The Flatiron District was so named around 1985 for the famous Flatiron Building, the first skyscraper and iconic triangular building at Broadway and 23rd Street. Before 1985, the are has been called the toy district and the photo district. This is a partly residential neighborhood known for publishing, furniture, and cool restaurants. Where there are residents there will be the ubiquitous Duane Reade. Yes, even Carrie and Miranda go there in the movie to buy Halloween costumes. And it's there that Carrie sees the Vogue issue that she had posed for in happier times.
