Visitors to the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery have seen just what you’d expect from a military cemetery: ghosts dressed in their finest military attire, proudly wearing medals and ribbons to show their status. Unfortunately, some of these ghosts haven’t learned that the battle has long ago been lost or won. While the Jefferson Barracks post seems to have more spirit encounters, the cemetery, which is open to visitors, is also a ghostly destination (naturally). Some visitors report seeing a young girl walking through the immaculate rows of the white, military headstones. Others have reported seeing the ghosts of both Confederate and Union soldiers, some acknowledging each other as they pass by. [Photo courtesy John Abney]
