10. Eco Tourism: South Coast Tours

This is Dave with South Coast Tours. We were established in 2012, and have always placed a high importance on conservation and equity with all of our tours. Our service area runs from Coos Bay down to the California border, but Port Orford is our number one destination. In Port Orford you can kayak, kayak fish, snorkel, scuba dive, do surfing lessons, or go on one of our whales and wildlife boat tours. On our trips, you are likely to see seabirds like the pigeon guillemot, common murre, or cormorant, as well as harbor seals, gray whales, harbor porpoise, a Coast Guard historical site, sea caves, a great arch that you can paddle through, there is kelp forest, and lots of intertidal critters like sea stars, anemones, urchins and more. Our season runs from May through October and in 2020, we have five guides that can take you on 15 different tour offerings all over the south coast.
