23. Kernstown Battlefield

The Kernstown Battlefield on Pritchard-Grim Farm offers 315 acres of green space, walking trails and tours, a visitors center, the historic farmhouse, special events and much more. The battlefield is run by a non-profit organization and volunteers who open the property to visitors on weekends, from the second weekend in May through October. There is no fee for admission, but donations and foundation memberships are encouraged. The land is a working farm with grazing cattle and harvested hay. It appears much as it did prior to the Civil War.
