3. Historic Landmark Apple

Winchester, VA

The large apple that sits in front of the antebellum home at the corner of Piccadilly and Braddock Streets is a popular landmark and photographic subject. In the first Apple Blossom Festival in 1924, an apple was taken from a float and placed in that yard. It eventually deteriorated due to weather, and was replaced with a permanent one.
