The Godfather I and II
10. Sicily: Forza d' Agro
New York, NY
Although Don Vito Corleone is from Corleone, Sicily, Coppola decided to film in Taormina, Sicily. Coppola decided on Taormina because Corleone was too modern and Coppola needed a more rustic and authentic feel, so they decided to film in Savoca, Forza d'Agro, Francavilla, and Nunziata. The villa scenes were shot in Nunziata and Francavilla, while the village scenes were shot in Savoca and Forza d'Agro.
