The Godfather I and II

Young Vito Corleone is filmed in Taormina, Sicily. All Sicily scenes were filmed here in The Godfather: Part II. Taormina is a small, rustic town on the east coast of Sicily that was used for filming because of its antique buildings and sparce population. Coppola needed a town that was not fully developed to capture what Sicily looked like in young Vito's time.
