Ending the trilogy with the disappearance of The Batman, Director Nolan throws in a happy ending. Doubling as a Florence cafe where Alfred vacations, the Colonnade of the Old Royal Naval College is actually in London. Managed by the Greenwich Foundation since 1988, Old Royal Naval College was built in the eighteenth century as a hospital and converted into a college between 1873-1998. This was originally the site of Greenwich Palace where Tudor Mary and Elizabeth I were born until it's demolition in the late 1600s. Centuries later the location is commonly used for filming television programs, advertisements, and feature films such as The Dark Knight Rises. Ensuring the audience of Bruce Wayne's survival and his release from the weighing responsibility of The Batman, filmmaker Nolan portrays Bruce dining with Selina Kyle who is donning Martha Wayne's pearls, the same ones she stole at the beginning of the film. Carefully choosing his location, Bruce assures his life long friend Alfred of his release from the darkness of Gotham City. Don't worry, Bruce entrusted his duties to John Robin Blake, who will no doubt rise to any occasion as did his predecessor.
