To match the grand exterior of the newly constructed Wayne Manor, film makers chose Osterley Park House to serve as the inside of Bruce Wayne's home. Originally built in the late 1500s, the manor house was saved from ruin and completely reconstructed two hundred years later. The inside and outside were given immense praise and once called the "Palace of all palaces." The interior was noted for its highly varied color schemes and coordination between it's décor and furnishings unusual for Neoclassical designs. The architect also designed some of the furniture remaining in the house, which is now open to the public. It's history is varied and fitting to the unique design and culture bursting from it's walls. No longer used as a private home, the Osterley Park House and grounds were transformed into a home guard training facility which taught street fighting techniques and guerrilla warfare until it was disapproved and shut down by the war office of Winston Churchill. After the war it was converted into a convalescence for injured airmen. It's been featured in multiple television shows and films. Conquering the classic detail and extravagance of Wayne Manor, the Osterley Park House served a fitting backdrop for the plot riveting drama occurring within it's walls, and underneath it's floors in the hidden Batcave.
