Dark Knight Trilogy
Randolph & WellsDark Knight Trilogy
3. Randolph & WellsAs Batman instructed, "Hold on!" While being pursued by Gotham City Police in his attempt to rescue Assistant D.A., Rachel Dawes, in Batman Begins, The Batman burst through the gate of Randolph and Wells Parking Garage. A convenient turn off considering the garage is located in the heart of the downtown Chicago loop. After accelerating through the circular levels of the seven story garage, The Batman became presumably cornered when he reached the roof top level. "Short cut," Batman claimed, as he demonstrated the Tumbler's abilities to blast through concrete and boost into a rampless jump with it's jet engine power. The wild and inventive chase continued with police explaining "He's not on a street! He's flying through rooftops!" The 5,000 pound Tumbler easily traveled over tiled rooftops with 37 inch rear tires known as Super Swampers and racing tires in the front. Ending his navigation of Gotham City's higher levels, The Batman returned to the streets just in time to resume the chase in the tunnel of Lower Wacker Drive. The parking garage is also featured in The Dark Knight, hosting the introduction scene of the Caped Crusader. Here Dr. Crane returned to the screen informing Gotham criminals that The Batman had disposed of all other resources for drug trafficking except himself. Damaging another wall in the parking garage Batman appeared in his Tumbler to dispose of the final resource. Fighting off gangsters, dogs, and the new hoard of Batmen copycats, Batman doesn't lose sight of the crazed Scarecrow who had eluded police thus far. Scarecrow was almost successful in his escape through the parking lo t maze but was stopped short when The Batman leapt from several stories high and landed on Scarecrow's getaway van, now completely demolished. The Batman made multiple visits to the same parking garage considering it's rooftop doubled as location of the Bat Symbol. Also feigning as the Gotham City Police Station's rooftop, the parking garage holds the distress symbol created to contact and summon The Batman as well as sending out an intimidating concept to the diminishing criminals in Gotham City.
