Tilbury Docks opened in 1882 over the Thames River and became the principle port for London. Covering 850 acres with working terminals, quay, private roads, and 500,000 square meters of warehouse space, Tilbury Docks is the main port in the United Kingdom for paper import. The port also imports bulk cargo, timber, cars and container traffic remains, and, in Batman Begins, stuffed animals filled with illegal drugs. "The teddy bears go to the dealers and the rabbits go to the man in the Narrows," crime lord Falcone explained to a corrupt Gotham policeman referring to Dr. Crane as the man in the Narrows. Utilizing the immense space, filled with bulky cargo containers and swallowed in the darkness, The Batman makes his first appearance in a frightening deliverance.
