In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it is on the staircase outside the University's Great Hall at Christ Church that Harry has flashbacks in which he sees an encounter between Dumbledore and Tom Riddle. The Great Hall itself bears a striking resemblance to the huge great hall at Hogwarts. Christ Church is one of the largest constituent colleges of the University of Oxford and had produced no fewer than 13 British prime ministers (as many as all 45 other Oxford college combined and more than any single Cambridge college). It's the only college in the world that is also a cathedral, in this case serving as a church in the diocese of Oxford. King Henry VIII established the college in 1546. The Great Hall itself is so impressive that both the University of Chicago and Cornell University have reproduced it on their own campuses (Hutchinson Hall and Risley Residential College, respectively).
