32. High Marnham Power StationIn Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, when Harry, Hermione and Ron are in search of horcruxes, they camp one night beneath deserted cooling towers which were at High Marnham Power Station. This was a coal-fired power station near the village of Dunham in Nottinghamshire, but the towers were recently removed when the site was demolished. The station originally opened in 1959 with a capacity for generating 945 megawatts of electricity. It was one of three power stations along the River Trent. The station officially closed in 2003, and 119 workers were laid off. Some portions of the station were demolished in 2004, the central boiler house came down in 2006, and the cooling towers were destroyed on July 15, 2012.
