Glen EtiveFilming Locations of Harry Potter
22. Glen EtiveIn Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Hogwarts landscapes were filmed in the dramatic area of Glen Etive, Scotland, with Hagrid's hut built on nearby Clachaig Gully. Situated at the head of Glen Coe is the Kings House Hotel, where several tributary streams come together to form the River Etive, a popular site with whitewater kayakers with its consistent grade 4(5) rapids, falls and pool drops. The streams flow down the peaks surrounding the Rannoch Moor. The peaks that are accessible from the glen include the Herdsmen of Etive (Buachaille Etive Mòr and Buachaille Etive Beag), two peaks at the northern end of the glen, Ben Starav at the head of Loch Etive, and Beinn Fhionnlaidh, located on the northern side of the glen. The River Etive flows just over 11 miles until it reaches Loch Etive, a sea loch.
