In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry and his companions enter the Ministry of Magic via a red phone booth near the corner of Scotland Place and Great Scotland Yard. It is also just around the corner that Harry, Hermione and Ron get their "costumes" to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. The prominence of "Scotland" in these place names in the St. James district of Westminster are thought to derive from the buildings in the area that were used to house diplomatic representatives from the Kingdom of Scotland when visiting English royalty. If you're here, stop by the nearby Clarence Pub, an establishment named after the Duke of Clarence and dating back to 1896.
