With Harry expelled from Hogwarts and under attack from Dementors in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Mad-Eye Moody takes him and his friends along the Thames on a crazy broomstick ride, past such landmarks as the towers of business center Canary Wharf, the museum ship HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament, finally landing in "Grimmauld Place," which in real life is the grassy area of Claremont Square in north London's Islington borough. They exit on the west side and cross the street to the home of Sirius Black, which now operates as the HQ for the Order of the Phoenix. Claremont Square was developed in the 1820s around a reservoir, the Upper Pond, which was built by the New River Company. New River was a constructed water channel established in 1613 that fed drinking water into reservoirs in Islington to supply London. The Upper Pond reservoir underneath Claremont Square, which was covered over in 1852, was built in 1709. The square features a nice array of wild flowers and is a preserved area.
