Filming Locations of Harry Potter
Green LanesFilming Locations of Harry Potter
27. Green LanesIn Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Knight Bus careens wildly along Green Lanes, in Palmers Green, northern London. The bus then banks left onto Park Avenue to deliver Harry to the Leaky Cauldron. Green Lanes is an ancient thoroughfare once used to drive cattle into London. It runs for nearly 7.5 miles, making it one of the longest streets in the British capital. A couple sections of the road have a different name, such as Grand Parade and High Road, but it becomes Green Lanes again through Palmers Green. It ends where it intersects with Ridge Avenue and Green Dragon Lane at Mason's Corner. Sites to visit along its route include Clissold Park, The Waterworks, Finsbury Park, the New River, Railway Fields Nature Reserve, the Salisbury Public House built in 1897 and featuring a crown to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, and the Turnpike Lane Underground Station.
